CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA - From the 8th ­ 10th February Litton Marine Systems were exhibiting at the 16th Fast Ferry International Conference and Exhibition in Nice, France.

Litton Marine Systems (LMS) were amongst the 80 exhibitors at Fast Ferry International, other companies included Incat Australia, FBM Marine, Fincanterie, Austal Ships, Catamaran Ferries International, GE Marine, Wave Master International, ZF Marine & Iris Catamarans.

The LMS stand featured a total capability in Marine Electronics and Night Vision Systems for the high speed craft market. Products on display included; radar, alarm, monitoring, control & condition assessment including damage control, Gyrocompasses, Autopilots and night vision systems.
At Fast Ferry International Litton Marine Systems and Vistar Night Vision Ltd launched the formation of a strategic alliance to develop and market night vision equipment for the marine industry.

Under the terms of the agreement, Litton Marine Systems and Vistar will establish a Centre of Excellence for marine night vision technology. The two companies will jointly develop future night vision technologies and market each other’s respective products.

Dr Clark Graham, president of Litton Marine Systems, stated: “The alliance with Vistar will greatly enhance our ability to offer total solutions to our customers in the military and commercial marine market. This agreement is in line with our goal of being a ‘One Source’ provider of integrated navigation, communications, information, ship control and machinery automation systems.”

Tony Ewer, managing director of VISTAR, said: “We look forward to our new relationship with Litton. The alliance between our two companies will combine Vistar’s considerable expertise in image intensified and infrared thermal imaging technologies with Litton’s worldwide marketing and service organization.

In 2004 it is expected that it will be an IMO requirement for all high speed craft to have night vision equipment installed on all vessels. Litton Marine Systems together with Vistar will be fully prepared to accommodate all night vision needs.
