CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA - Litton Marine Systems has announced that the Decca BridgeMaster E series of marine radars have received type approval in Japan.

The type approval, awarded in March 2000 by the Japanese Ministry of Post and Telecommunications, covers the full range of BridgeMaster E products, including S-band and X-band 340, 250 and 180 models.

Introduced in 1998, the BridgeMaster E radars have been designed and tested to meet all IMO specifications for conventional and high-speed craft. The BridgeMaster E series was the first to incorporate new digital technology for automatic clutter suppression and gain control. It was also the first to include a type approved 250 version with a flat panel display option.
