CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA - Litton Marine Systems has been awarded a performance based logistics (PBL) support contract for all AN/BPS-15H navigation radar systems installed in the U.S. Navy's SSN 688-Class submarines.

The contract, awarded by the Naval Inventory Control Point-Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, calls for Litton Marine Systems to assume responsibility for the supply support of the radar system, including managing the wholesale spares inventory, satisfying all fleet demands for repair parts with fully traceable delivery, within as few as two days for the most urgent, repairing the returned failed components and maintaining system configuration control.

The initial one-year contract contains options, which are expected to be awarded each year through 2005, pending an annual review.

The AN/BPS-15H is a new commercial off the shelf (COTS) integrated navigation radar system, incorporating an Electronic Chart Display and Information System (ECDIS). Each system includes multiple operating and display consoles, including a remote display on the open bridge. Litton is supplying the AN/BPS-15H systems for the SSN 688-Class submarines as part of a major modernization and upgrade program for the U.S. Navy's submarine fleet.
