Machinery Control System for New Amphibious Assault Ships

Northrop Grumman Corporation’s (NYSE: NOC) Sperry Marine business unit has been selected to supply the Machinery Control System (MCS) for LHA 6, the first of a new generation of large-deck amphibious assault ships for the U.S. Navy.

Northrop Grumman Shipbuilding awarded Sperry Marine a contract valued at approximately $47.6 million. LHA 6 is being built at the Northrop Grumman Shipbuilding facility in Pascagoula, Miss.

Electronic Charting Technology for Submarines Certified

The Office of the Chief of Naval Operations (CNO) has approved a Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE: NOC) radar system as an authorized Electronic Chart Display and Information System, Navy (ECDIS-N) for the U.S. Navy’s 688-class nuclear attack submarine fleet.

The AN/BPS-15H radar systems on the Los Angeles-class submarines were supplied by Northrop Grumman’s Sperry Marine business unit.

Platform Management System for UK Royal Navy Astute-Class Submarine

Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE: NOC) has been chosen to provide the Platform Management System (PMS) for the next Royal Navy Astute-Class submarine, HMS Audacious.

BAE Systems has selected Northrop Grumman’s Sperry Marine business unit as the preferred bidder to supply the PMS for the fourth Astute-Class submarine. The PMS will control and monitor platform machinery and on-board systems.

Orders to Upgrade Navigation systems for Shell Liquefied Natural Gas Carriers

Shell International Trading and Shipping Co Ltd (Shell) is upgrading the navigation systems on several liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers with new-generation bridge electronics from Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE: NOC).

The new navigation systems are being installed on four LNG carriers managed by Shell for Bonny Gas Transport, a fully owned shipping subsidiary of Nigeria LNG Ltd. (NLNG); Northrop Grumman’s Sperry Marine business unit is supplying the systems and performing the installations.
