Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE: NOC) has supplied the electronic navigation systems for the Greek cruise ship MV Aegean Odyssey, which has recently completed a major refurbishment.

The ship’s bridge has been refitted with a complete navigation package based on Northrop Grumman’s Sperry Marine VisionMaster FT™ technology. The scope of supply includes radars, electronic chart display and information system, gyrocompass, autopilot, ship steering system and other sensors.

Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE: NOC) has won a contract to upgrade the inertial navigation systems (INS) for the Swedish navy’s submarines.

Under the contract, awarded by Kockums AB, Northrop Grumman’s Sperry Marine unit will supply five MK 39 Mod 3C ring laser gyro systems for installation on two Gotland-class and two Södermanland-class submarines, with one set to be used for spares and training. The MK 39 Mod 3C systems will replace the existing spinning mass gyrocompasses currently fitted on the submarines.

Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE: NOC) has won a contract to supply machinery automation systems for two mine countermeasures vessels being sold by the U.K. Ministry of Defence to the Lithuanian navy, considerably enhancing their mine countermeasures capability in the most cost-effective manner.

Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE: NOC) has been selected to supply integrated bridge systems (IBS) for two new fleet tankers being built in Italy for the Indian navy.

The IBS orders were placed with Northrop Grumman’s Sperry Marine unit by the Italian shipbuilding company Fincantieri, which is under contract to build the two tankers at its shipyards in Liguria and Palermo. Terms of the contract for the IBS were not disclosed.

Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE: NOC) has been awarded a contract to supply the navigation and communication systems for nine new 35-meter patrol boats being built for the Iraqi navy.

The $19 million firm, fixed-price contract was awarded to Northrop Grumman’s Sperry Marine business unit by Swiftships Shipbuilders, LLC of Morgan City, La. Work on the contract will be performed by Northrop Grumman’s Ocean Springs, Miss., facility.
