Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE: NOC) has supplied the advanced Integrated Bridge System and Voyage Management System electronic charting software for the first U.S. Navy ship authorized to navigate using Digital Nautical Charts (DNC) supplied by the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency.

Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE: NOC) has been awarded a delivery order for the fifth year of a five-year contract to provide technical, logistics and material support for navigation systems installed on U.S. Navy ships and submarines.

The delivery order, valued at $15.5 million, was awarded to Northrop Grumman’s Sperry Marine business unit by Naval Inventory Control Point, Mechanicsburg, Pa., under a firm fixed-price performance-based logistics (PBL) contract.

The Gyro and Inertial Navigation Systems Support Center has been built to provide cost effective through life support to worldwide Naval Gyro and INS customers. It represents a significant investment by Sperry Marine to reduce customer logistics costs, spares turnaround times and maintains full availability of systems throughout the fleet.

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA - Litton Marine Systems has been awarded a contract worth up to $1.8 million to supply navigation and control systems for two new frigates being built for the Moroccan Navy in France.

The two frigates are based on the French Floreal Class and are under construction at Chantiers de L'Atlantique in Saint Nazaire. They are scheduled for delivery in 2003-2004.

Litton Marine Systems recently installed integrated bridge systems (IBS) on two Royal Caribbean International cruise ships.

The Litton bridge systems were installed during June 2000 on the Rhapsody of the Seas in Victoria, British Columbia, and the Majesty of the Seas in Mobile, Alabama.

LOS ANGELES -- Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE: NOC) and Litton Industries Inc. (NYSE: LIT) jointly announced today that they have signed a definitive agreement under which Northrop Grumman will acquire for cash all of the outstanding shares of Litton for $80 per common share and $35 per Series B Preferred share. The transaction is valued at approximately $5.1 billion, which includes the assumption of Litton's $1.3 billion in net debt. Northrop Grumman's and Litton's boards of directors have unanimously approved the transaction.

Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE: NOC) has received type approval from the German certification authority Bundesamt für Seeschiffahrt & Hydrographie (BSH) for the Sperry Marine NAVISTAR satellite compass system.

The BSH type approval certifies that the NAVISTAR system meets the International Maritime Organization carriage requirements and International Standards Organization performance requirements for a Transmitting Heading Device (THD).

Northrop Grumman Corporation’s (NYSE: NOC) Sperry Marine business unit has been awarded a contract to upgrade weather and navigation radar systems on Iraqi Air Force C-130 Hercules cargo aircraft.

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA - Litton Marine Systems has been awarded an In-Service Support (ISS) contract from the Canadian Department of National Defence for the Halifax-class frigates.

Under the three-year contract, worth $1.8 million, Litton will provide spares, service and technical support on demand for the MK 49 ship's inertial navigation systems (SINS) on the 12 Halifax-class ships.
