CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. -- Litton Marine Systems (LMS), a subsidiary of Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE: NOC), has introduced a new type-approved basic Electronic Chart Display and Information System (ECDIS) for the maritime industry.

Northrop Grumman Corporation’s (NYSE: NOC) Sperry Marine business unit has received approval from the Norwegian classification society, Det Norske Veritas, to conduct annual performance testing of shipboard voyage data recorders (VDR).

In 2003, Sperry Marine received similar type approvals from the American Bureau of Shipping and Lloyd’s Register.

LOS ANGELES -- Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) announced today that it has completed the purchase of all tendered shares of Litton Industries Inc. common and Series B preferred stock, after receiving all required U.S. and international governmental and regulatory approvals.

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA - Litton Marine Systems has been awarded a contract worth up to $5.2 million to supply ring laser gyrocompass systems for an entire class of U.S. Coast Guard medium endurance cutters.

The contract calls for Litton Marine to retrofit Sperry MK 39 MOD3A ring laser gyro systems on all of the USCG 270-ft. Famous Class medium-endurance cutters. The new-generation systems will replace the existing MK 29 spinning-mass gyrocompasses on the cutters. Deliveries will begin in 2000 and will continue over the next four years.
