Northrop Grumman Corporation’s (NYSE: NOC) Sperry Marine business unit has been awarded contracts to supply bridge navigation systems for four new offshore supply vessels to be built in Brazil.

The four multipurpose platform supply vessels, designed by Rolls-Royce, will be built at the Estaleiro Aliança shipyard near Rio de Janeiro for Companhia Brasileira de Offshore (CBO). They will be placed on long-term charter with Petrobras, the Brazilian state oil company, to provide support services for offshore oil platforms.

Northrop Grumman Corporation’s (NYSE: NOC) Sperry Marine business unit has received type approval from the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping for its VisionMaster FT™ family of marine radars.

The type-approval certificates apply to Sperry Marine X-band and S-band Cat 1 and 2 models, including chart-radar and radar-only versions for high-speed and standard craft. The Russian type approval signifies that the products comply with the 2008 edition of “RS Rules for the Equipment of Sea-Going Ships” and International Maritime Organization Resolutions A.694(17) and MSC.191(79).

Northrop Grumman Corporation’s (NYSE: NOC) Sperry Marine business unit has been awarded a contract to supply integrated bridge systems (IBS) for four new product tankers being built in Brazil.

The Estaleiro Mauá shipyard, near Rio de Janeiro, will build the four ships for delivery to Transpetro, the shipping arm of Petrobras, the Brazilian state oil company.

Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE: NOC) has been awarded a contract to provide technical support services for the integrated platform management systems (IPMS) installed in the Royal Navy’s new Type 45 destroyers.

The contract was awarded to Northrop Grumman’s Sperry Marine business unit by BVT Surface Fleet Ltd, the prime contractor for the Type 45 programme. Sperry Marine is the selected IPMS supplier for the Type 45 ships, the first of which, HMS Daring, joined the Royal Navy surface fleet in December.
