Northrop Grumman Sperry Marine is the proud partner of the Jubilee Sailing Trust, a registered charity whose mission is to promote the integration of people of all physical abilities, including injured and recovering service men and women, through the challenge and adventure of tall ship sailing.
This partnership sees Northrop Grumman Sperry Marine supplying navigational equipment, including the NAVIGAT X MK2 Digital Gyrocompass system, to the Lord Nelson, one of Trusts two tall ships, ensuring safe passage during the vessels numerous global sailing voyages.
The Lord Nelson and Tenacious are the only two tall ships in the world that have been purpose built to enable people of all physical and sensory abilities to take an active role in sailing.
Established in 1978, the Jubilee Sailing Trust have welcomed more than 40,000 people on-board, of which 15,000 have had a disability and 5,500 have been wheelchair users, and teaches crew not only to sail a tall ship, but promotes equality, sharing, and celebrates our individual differences through able and disabled people working together to achieve greater things.
