Northrop Grumman Sperry Marine continuously develops technology to maximise operational capacity for maritime surveillance and environmental protection at sea. Operation feature include:
When involved in missions, the ability to restrict radar transmissions to accurately defined arcs is a distinct advantage. The VisionMaster FT Naval Radar allows the operator to define up to four transmission arcs, stabilised by the ship’s gyro so that the radar only transmits over those arcs even when the ship is manoeuvring.
This feature enables vessels to manoeuvre safely when visibility is reduced or during periods of GPS denial. The advanced parallel indexing of the Northrop Grumman Sperry Marine Naval Radar supports blind pilotage operations. The Naval Radar preserves the safety of own ship even in the most confined waters with minimised clutter effect and multiple sets of lines which are prepared in advance.
The optional Asynchronous Secondary Radar input allows two radar inputs to be displayed on a single radar picture, providing full coverage over 360° and avoiding blind arcs.
A further optional feature is the ability to view CCTV or other video feeds on the VisionMaster FT screen. The display can show CCTV, multiple video feed view or Picture-in-Picture view for real-time awareness.
The Naval Radar is also available as an approved chart radar utilising the same electronic charts as a fully type approved ECDIS or as an approved ECDIS/WECDIS with radar overlay. In its TotalWatch version it is a full multi-function workstation incorporating radar, chart radar, ECDIS/WECDIS and if required Machinery Control Automation Systems.
