Northrop Grumman Corporation’s (NYSE: NOC) Sperry Marine business unit has introduced an embedded training system designed to support on-board training for ships equipped with the Sperry Marine integrated bridge system.

Northrop Grumman Corporation’s (NYSE: NOC) Sperry Marine business unit has won orders from the China Shipbuilding Corporation shipyard in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, to supply integrated bridge systems (IBS) for 12 new container ships. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

“The state-of-the-art bridge electronics suite is designed to enhance navigation safety by integrating all of the ships’ navigation and steering control systems,” said John DeMaso, president of Sperry Marine.

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.- Northrop Grumman Corporation's (NYSE: NOC) Sperry Marine unit has introduced a mission data recorder (MDR) for the military market that automatically logs and stores critical data from shipboard sensors and systems.

The MDR is the military equivalent of Sperry Marine's voyage data recorder currently approved and certified to meet or exceed all requirements required by the International Maritime Organization for all passenger and new cargo ships over 3,000 gross tonnage by July 1, 2002.
