Naval Reserve Officer Training Candidate (NROTC) students at college campuses in San Diego have become the first to use an advanced navigation training package supplied by Northrop Grumman Corporation’s (NYSE: NOC) Sperry Marine business unit.

The computerized learning DVDs contain 16 interactive courseware (ICW) training lessons on the use and operation of Sperry Marine’s Voyage Management System (VMS) ship navigation software. They are being used in the navigation training curriculum for NROTC students at the University of San Diego and other greater San Diego college campuses.

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA - The U.S. Coast Guard has awarded Litton Marine Systems a five-year maintenance support contract for the bridge electronics systems on the new icebreaker USCGC HEALY (WAGB 20).

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA - Litton Marine Systems has won orders to supply fiber optic gyrocompass and radar systems for 12 new patrol boats being built for the Portugal Customs Brigade.

The 12 vessels, under construction at Conafi Shipyard, will be fitted with Litton SR 2100 fiber-optic gyrocompasses and Litton Decca BridgeMaster E 250 X-band radars. The order was placed through SICOM - Sistemas de Comunições, Lda, Litton's sales and service representative in Portugal. SICOM will also provide support for installation, service and training.

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA - Litton Marine Systems Inc., a subsidiary of Litton Industries, Inc. (NYSE: LIT), has been granted a contract option worth more than $36.9 million from the U.S. Naval Sea Systems Command for production of additional AN/WSN-7 inertial navigation systems.

The contract option calls for Litton to deliver 47 AN/WSN-7 shipsets over the next 12 to 24 months. The equipment will be installed on U.S. Navy aircraft carriers, surface combatants and submarines under a program to backfit the fleet with the new-generation systems.
